Background

My yoga journey began in 2011 with regular one-on-one Ashtanga Vinyasa lessons in London, studying for six years under authorised teacher Charlie Taylor-Rugman. Between 2011 and 2019, I also made frequent trips to India to deepen my practice and understanding.
From 2016 to 2017, I assisted Jess Glenny at their Mysore-style studio in Greenwich before relocating to Mysore, India — the birthplace of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga — where I lived and practiced for two years. During this time, I studied under Ajay Kumar and completed my Ashtanga Vinyasa Teacher Training with him. I also explored Yoga Nidra and meditation through courses with B. Naga Kumar.
My teaching path has taken me across continents, leading classes and retreats in Laos, Thailand, and Senegal before returning to the UK in 2019.
In 2020, my focus shifted from traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa to the Vinyasa Krama system as taught by Matthew Sweeney. Over the past five years, I’ve dedicated myself to this approach, completing teacher trainings in the Chandra Krama and Marjara Krama series, and integrating these methods into my personal practice and teaching.

My teaching
After six years of dedicated Ashtanga Vinyasa practice, I completed my teacher training in Mysore with Ajay Kumar in 2017.
In 2022, I received authorisation from Matthew Sweeney to teach the Chandra Krama series, followed by authorisation to teach the Marjara Krama series in 2024.
In my classes, I share what has been passed down to me by my teachers. The focus is on breath-led movement, with particular attention to the breath and the pause (stambha). I emphasise alignment, offer modifications, and provide hands-on adjustments where needed to support each student’s individual needs.
My approach to teaching is individualised and practical. Through led classes, my aim is to guide students through a consistent sequence they can learn and eventually take into their own self-practice.
I try to balance compassion with encouraging students to develop self-discipline — creating a supportive space where growth, inquiry, and personal responsibility can coexist.
